Adventurous people visiting Manuel Antonio should not miss the chance to overcome “El Chorro”, a high degree whitewater rafting trip. “El Chorro” is a Class 4 whitewater rafting trip on the upper section of the Naranjo River, about 45 minutes from the main Manuel Antonio hotel area. This whitewater rafting trip is known as a dry season Class IV, and it boost up to Class V and frequently turns unnavigable during rainy season. Although it’s a strenuous and challenging whitewater trip, rafters do not need prior rafting experience; nevertheless they have to be in good physical conditions and the minimum age is 16 years. Safety kayakers will always ride along.

Since the rapids go through a very narrow gorge, it had been decided to name it “El Chorro” where the appropriate translation to English would be “jet gorge”.

This powerful excursion last around 4 hours, between the pick-up and drop off at your hotel.

It includes round trip transportation (to the main Quepos – Manuel Antonio hotel area) and jaco aere), equipment and snacks at the end of the adventure.
