Rooster fishing is close-in, visual and heart-stopping, perfect for anglers who want big-fish drama on a half-day trip. Almost always released.

Where & when

Close to shore over sand and rock, around river mouths, points and beaches — often within sight of the coast.

How we fish it

Slow-trolling or casting live bait (blue runners, mullet) close in, or poppers for the surface bite. A true light-tackle thrill.
