Explore the unique Costa Rican mangrove ecosystem by kayak, gliding through natural canals and beneath tunnels formed by tree roots. Keep your eyes open for herons, kingfishers, ospreys and frigate birds, plus reptiles, anteaters and white-faced monkeys, while your guide explains the flora and fauna. About two hours on the brackish water; no experience needed and kayaks seat one or two paddlers. Children must be at least 8 and share a kayak with an adult.
